Mireia Puig Asensio

Member of the Infectious Diseases Service and the Infection Control Unit of the Hospital of Bellvitge, Barcelona.

She has acquired the knowledge of modern Hospital Epidemiology at the University of Iowa (United States). It currently has a FIS project for the implementation of semi-automated surveillance of surgical infections in 3 hospitals of the VINCat program and collaborates with a European network to improve the epidemiological surveillance of infections related to health care. Its main objective is to improve the quality of care by preventing and optimizing the management of healthcare-associated infections.
