Dr. Carlota Gudiol is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases at the Infectious Diseases Department of Bellvitge University Hospital in Barcelona. She is also an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona.

Her clinical and research work focuses on infectious complications in patients with cancer and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation recipients, with a particular emphasis on the impact of antimicrobial resistance in this population. She has published more than 90 articles indexed in PubMed and is the author of over 150 presentations at national and international conferences.

Dr. Gudiol has led and is currently leading several international studies on antimicrobial resistance in cancer patients, as well as an international multicenter study on COVID-19 in immunocompromised patients with cancer. She is a member of the Spanish Network for Research in Infectious Diseases (REIPI), the ESCMID Study Group for Infections in Compromised Hosts, and the ESCMID Study Group for Bloodstream Infections.
