Schistosomiasis can go undetected for years, particularly among migrant populations, while limited awareness of the disease and gaps in primary care training can hinder early detection.
This programme aims to bring schistosomiasis closer to clinical practice, providing healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical tools to recognise, diagnose and manage the disease comprehensively, with a particular focus on gynaecological manifestations and cultural and gender diversity.
The programme combines seven short, practical video tutorials, focused on early detection and clinical management, with an in-person meeting where experts and patients will share knowledge, experiences and the main challenges of the disease in non-endemic settings.
