Dr. Adaia Albasanz Puig is a faculty member in the Infectious Diseases Department at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. Her clinical work focuses on the management of infectious complications in immunocompromised patients. She is currently responsible for the Infectious Diseases program in oncohematology at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital.
Her research initially focused on optimizing the management of bacterial infections in patients with febrile neutropenia. Her current academic work focuses on infectious complications in patients with hematological malignancies, particularly invasive fungal diseases and infections associated with T-cell–redirecting therapies.
She is a member of the Vall d’Hebron Infectious Diseases Research Group and collaborates with the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology. She is also a member of the Spanish Group of Medical Mycology and an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
