Pau Abrisqueta is a hematologist and Head of the Lymphoma Unit at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, where he also leads the Hematology Clinical Trials Unit within the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO). He obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Barcelona in 2003 and completed his residency in Hematology at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.
Since joining the Hematology Department at Vall d’Hebron in 2009, he has developed an extensive clinical and research career focused on lymphomas and the development of innovative therapeutic strategies. He earned his PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona in 2014 and has been an Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona since that same year.
From 2014 to 2015, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Centre for Lymphoid Cancer, British Columbia Cancer Research Center in Canada, further strengthening his expertise in translational research and clinical trials in lymphoid malignancies. He is currently a member of several scientific societies, including the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy (SEHH), the Spanish Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Group (GELLC), and the Spanish Lymphoma and Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant Group (GELTAMO).
