Information

The workshop is addressed to professionals who are in charge of HIV-infected patients to offer them a better management approach, by preventing various comorbidities and improving the patients’ clinical evolution, quality of life and satisfaction. This workshop is therefore aimed not only to healthcare professionals but also to researchers, representatives from educational institutions and academia, as well as pharmaceutical industry.

Its objective is to review HPV (human papillomavirus) in the context of HIV infection, explore the latest research in HPV science and vaccinology in both males and females and offer highly tailored practical sessions directed to professionals who regularly attend people infected by HIV and are interested in implementing their own anal cancer screening program on patients with higher risk of HPV infection.

Adrià Curran is a staff physician of the Infectious Diseases Department of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and is the coordinator of the Anal Dysplasia Screening Unit of Vall d’Hebron University Hospital. He has carried out specific training on HPV anal dysplasia in HIV patients at the University of San Francisco (CA, USA) with Prof. Joel Palefsky. He is a member of the International Anal Neoplasia Society. He participates as a researcher in multiple international clinical trials and has published more than 100 articles in national and international journals and book chapters on various aspects of HIV infection, HPV and its treatment.
