Pablo Coto

Graduated in Medicine from the University of Oviedo (1996-2002). Dermatologist at the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA) in 2007. Awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Oviedo with extraordinary honors (2011) for a thesis focused on the genetic aspects of Psoriasis vulgaris.

He is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Oviedo and is part of the research line in the Peripheral Nervous System and Sense Organs within the accredited Ph.D. program “Research in Medicine” by ANECA.

He has developed a robust research line in Pediatric Dermatology and the genetic aspects of skin diseases, especially psoriasis, with over 50 publications in leading international journals and book chapters. He has supervised doctoral theses and is the principal investigator of research projects in health and clinical trials. He collaborates as an advisor in innovation companies in the biosanitary field.

Currently, he works as a dermatologist at the Vital Álvarez Buylla Hospital in Mieres. He combines clinical practice with translational research on the genetic and pharmacogenomic aspects of biological therapy in Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis.

Dr. Coto is a member of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and is part of the Pediatric Dermatology group, the Lymphomas group, the Psoriasis Group of the AEDV (Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology), the international study group on Psoriatic Arthritis and Psoriasis (GRAPPA), and the study group on Psoriatic Arthritis and Psoriasis of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (GEAPSO-SER).
