José Muñoz
Medical specialist in internal medicine and infectious diseases with a history of more than 15 years in this specialty. He has worked as a doctor and researcher in the Ivory Coast, Mozambique and in parts of Latin America. He is currently the Head of the International Health Service of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. Within the framework of Research, he works as Associate Research Professor at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). His work here focuses on clinical and epidemiological research on imported tropical diseases among travelers and immigrants and neglected tropical diseases. In the field of teaching, he is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona, his teaching activity is directed mainly in the Master in International Health of the University of Barcelona since 2005 and more recently in the Master of Global Health of ISGlobal. Likewise, he also teaches various courses related to imported diseases.

Imported infectious diseases in travelers and migrants: Clinical and epidemiological investigation of imported diseases in travelers, with a special focus on parasitic infections and vector-borne diseases.
Neglected tropical diseases: main interest in soil-transmitted helminths: diagnosis and treatment.
Migration and health: the study of parasitic infections in migrants in Europe, particularly in the Latin American population, highlighting the screening and diagnosis of cases.
