Óscar de la Calle Martín (Madrid, 1960) holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Seville and is a specialist in Immunology trained at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. He obtained his PhD in Medicine (Cell and Molecular Biology) from the University of Barcelona in 1990. He worked at Hospital Clínic and Hospital Virgen del Rocío, and later carried out research at the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (INSERM).

Since 1992 he has worked at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, where he has led the Immunogenetics and Immunodeficiencies areas and promoted Clinical Immunology, and he is also a professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His scientific career focuses on primary immunodeficiencies, with numerous publications and supervision of doctoral theses. He chaired the ESID 2016 Congress in Barcelona and served on its Board. He has held positions in the Spanish Society for Immunology, currently its Secretary, and in the Catalan Society of Immunology. He is currently President of the National Immunology Specialty Commission.
