He currently works in the Nephrology Department at the same hospital, with a focus on kidney and kidney-pancreas transplantation, HIV-associated nephropathy, and diagnostic and interventional nephrology.

He holds a strong academic background: a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Santiago de Compostela, a PhD in Medicine (cum laude) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and was a Senior Clinical Fellow at Imperial College-Hammersmith Hospital in London (2012–2013). He has completed several master’s degrees: in atherothrombotic disease and non-invasive diagnostic techniques (University of Lleida), in clinical research methodology (University of Barcelona), in diagnostic and interventional nephrology (University of Alcalá), and is a certified expert in artificial intelligence and big data in healthcare from UAB.

He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

He has contributed to over 30 scientific publications and presented more than 50 communications at national and international nephrology conferences. He is a member of the REMAR research group at IGTP, part of the RICORS 2040 network, and has participated in various clinical trials and research projects funded by ISCIII and the Spanish Society of Nephrology.

Recently, he co-led the DIANA II study with Drs. Sirera and Parés, investigating the prevalence of HPV and associated lesions in kidney transplant patients.
