Trajectory

Specialist in Internal Medicine with advanced training in Infectious Diseases, with extensive experience in HIV care and sexually transmitted infections. Professional activity is focused on clinical assistance, including the implementation of HIV and HCV screening programs for vulnerable populations and the management of the hospital’s STI clinic and hepatic elastography service for HIV/HCV‑coinfected patients.

Active member of the Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Policy Committee at Hospital Vega Baja since 2009 and founding member of the hospital’s PROA antimicrobial stewardship program. Served as PROA coordinator (2022–2025) and subsequently as president of the PROA Committee at Hospital Universitario Vega Baja from 2025 onward.

Experience includes tutoring Internal Medicine residents (2011–2015) and participation as collaborator and principal investigator in multicenter research projects led by SEIMC‑GESIDA, Miguel Hernández University, and national cohorts on HIV and imported infections. Also collaborates with the European “Thresholds” group on antibiotic‑resistance markers.

Member of multiple professional societies, including the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine, the Valencian Society of Internal Medicine, SEIMC and its study groups, the Valencian Society of Infectious Diseases (with representation at the Alicante Medical Association), and the European AIDS Clinical Society.
