Dr. Pedro-Botet is specialized in Infectious Diseases, Respiratory Infections and Legionella. She is currently Professor and Chair of Medicine and a member of the Grade of Medicine Committee at the Autonomous University of Barcelona’s School of Medicine. She has been Principal or co-Investigator of 10 projects funded either by national or international grant agencies. Author of 91 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Specialized in Internal Medicine. She carries out her clinical activity in the Infectious Diseases Department at Bellvitge University Hospital and is a predoctoral researcher at CIBERINFEC (ISCIII). Her clinical and research interests focus on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of infectious complications in onco‑hematological patients and recipients of cellular therapy (hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and CAR‑T).

Jacques Rivière is recognized as a pediatric immunologist with specialization in primary and secondary immunodeficiencies. Affiliation is maintained with the Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunodeficiencies Unit at Vall d’Hebron Hospital. Responsibilities include the clinical coordination of the Advanced Immunology Studies Laboratory within the Pediatric Infection and Immunity research group, as well as coordination of the ARGOS program at Vall d’Hebron Hospital. Additional functions encompass participation in the cross-disciplinary committee addressing infections in patients receiving biological therapies and involvement in health and data research initiatives, with a particular focus on immunodeficiency screening programs (PIDCAP).

More than 35 years of professional activity in different services, generally in the hospital environment. Nurse referent in Diabetes, and multiple research works, mainly in oncology, publications and cooperation in creating educational material for nurses and patients.

Currently, she is an attending nurse in a day hospital for infectious diseases.

Specialist in Internal Medicine, holds a Master’s Degree in Infection in Immunocompromised Patients, and earned a PhD in Medicine with Outstanding Honors from the Complutense University of Madrid. Since March 2024, he has served as a Principal Investigator at the Research Institute of the University Hospital 12 de Octubre (i+12), while also providing clinical care in its Infectious Diseases Unit. He has completed training stays at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, Toronto General Hospital, and the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois in Lausanne. His research focuses on infections in solid organ transplant recipients and other non‑HIV immunocompromised patients, the development and validation of immune‑monitoring strategies, and host–pathogen interactions. He is the author or co‑author of 350 scientific publications and has an h‑index of 47. Between 2017 and 2021, he chaired the Study Group on Infection in Transplantation and the Immunocompromised Host (GESITRA‑IC) of the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology. His awards include the 2014 “Young Internist of the Year” from the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine, the 2017 Young Investigator Award for Research from ESCMID, and the 2021 Young Investigator Award from the International Immunocompromised Host Society.

Óscar de la Calle Martín (Madrid, 1960) holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Seville and is a specialist in Immunology trained at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. He obtained his PhD in Medicine (Cell and Molecular Biology) from the University of Barcelona in 1990. He worked at Hospital Clínic and Hospital Virgen del Rocío, and later carried out research at the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (INSERM).

Degree in Medicine from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona in 2004. Specialty in Internal Medicine at the Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe de Valencia in 2010. Postgraduate Diploma in Elderly and Pluripathological Patient by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2010. Master in Systemic Autoimmune Diseases by the University of Barcelona in 2017. University Expert in Autoinflammatory Diseases by the University of Barcelona in 2023. Adjunct physician of the Internal Medicine Service in the Immunopathology Section. Coordinator of the Adult Primary Immunodeficiency Unit at Hospital La Fe since 2013. Associate Professor of the Degree of Medicine of the University of Valencia and associate professor of the subjects Infectious Diseases and Systemic Autoimmune Diseases of the Degree of Medicine at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University of Castellón. Member of the Working Group of Minority Diseases of the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine (SEMI), the Spanish Society of Immunology and the European Society for Immunodeficiencies (ESID). His main areas of research are benign autoimmune and lymphoproliferative disorders in patients with primary immunodeficiencies and the role of intestinal dysbiosis in the pathophysiology of these disorders, the use of intravenous and subcutaneous gamma globulins in substitutive regimen and secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. He has participated as principal investigator and promoter in several competitive, privately funded and unfunded projects.

Pedro Puerta Alcalde, specialist in Internal Medicine, trained at Bellvitge University Hospital. He obtained his PhD in 2020 from the University of Barcelona. He worked as an infectious disease specialist at Hospital Clínic of Barcelona between 2017 and 2024. He is currently co-head of the Immunocompromised Patients Section at Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital in Badalona. Member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Group of Medical Mycology (SEIMC). Expert in fungal infections and multidrug-resistant organisms.
