The course is open to all healthcare professionals working in the territorial area of Metropolitana Nord, including those employed by healthcare providers other than the ICS. Nurses, non-medical researchers, and medical students are welcome to attend.

Information

In today’s context, marked by the successive emergence of infectious diseases with rapid spread patterns and significant impact on healthcare systems —such as Influenza A, Ebola, Zika, Crimean-Congo fever, SARS-CoV-2, or monkeypox— the need for a flexible and agile response from health professionals becomes evident.

This course addresses the need for healthcare systems and professionals to adapt to a changing epidemiological reality, where emerging diseases, zoonoses, climate change, migration, and global health inequalities shape a complex scenario. It also explores topics such as overfishing and its impact on migration, the relationship between climate change and health, cuts in international aid, emerging sexually transmitted infections, arboviruses, nutrition in migratory contexts, and experiences in high-endemicity settings.

The course is framed within the concept of Global Health (One Health), which integrates human, animal, and environmental health as interdependent pillars for disease prevention and control.
