The program is designed for healthcare professionals specializing in infectious diseases, internal medicine, primary care, emergency medicine, psychiatry, psychology, and nursing.

Information

ChemSex is a practice characterised by the intentional use of certain drugs for the purpose of having sex over a long period of time between gay men, bisexual men, men who have sex with men (MSM) and, more recently, people of other sexual identities.

In recent years, a significant increase in people who have problems derived from the consumption of these substances has been observed. In addition to mental health problems, other problems appear such as the increase in HIV infections and other STIs (viral hepatitis, bacterial STI, etc.), since the consumption of these drugs is associated with a minor or no use of preventive measures. All this implies a challenge for health authorities and for the professionals who care for these users.

That is why a practical training program is proposed, where a maximum of 20 attendees will get involved in a group dynamics using the Role-Playing technique. In this, various situations will be recreated where participants will take on the role of the professional who attend the consumer of ChemSex, putting into practice the theory and assimilating new concepts.

Specialist in Internal Medicine. Master’s Degree in AIDS from the University of Barcelona and Doctor of Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is currently Senior Specialist in the HIV Unit of the Infection Service of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and Medical Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Barcelona.

Since 2007 she is dedicated to the comprehensive care of people living with HIV, with special interest in pharmacokinetic interactions, hepatitis C, prevention and in recent years she is responsible for the various care, teaching and research projects that are carried out in people who practice chemsex attended in the unit.

His areas of expertise are combined HIV prevention, the approach to recreational drug use in sexualized contexts (Chemsex) and anal dysplasia screening.

Lecturer at the Institut Superior d’Estudis Psicològics (ISEP) and at the Postgraduate of LGBTI Policies in Public Administration of the Universitat de Lleida (UdL). Collaborator of the Service of Integral Attention to LGBTQ+ People (SAI) of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
