Melania Martínez

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2007 with an extraordinary prize for her class. She specialized in rheumatology at the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol in 2012. Doctorate in medicine from the UAB in 2019 with the thesis “Late-onset arthritis: clinical expression and related metabolic alterations” with a Cum Laude qualification.

She works as an assistant doctor of the rheumatology service of the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol from 2012 to the present. He has several publications in indexed journals and communications in national and international conferences. He has also received research grants from different scientific societies.

She is currently a member of various medical societies related to the specialty. Her areas of interest are inflammatory arthropathies, especially rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and joint ultrasound. On the other hand, her teaching vocation has made her collaborate as a professor of rheumatology in a training academy for opponents of the MIR exam from 2012 to 2019, and currently collaborates as a teacher of theory and practice in the subjects of pediatrics and rheumatology in the UAB.
