Marta Hernández-Meneses
Marta Hernández-Meneses is a specialist in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. She completed her residency at Hospital Universitario Dr. Negrín (HUDNGC) and further specialized at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, earning an International Ph.D. (UB, 2023). She holds three master’s degrees: HIV (UB, 2019), Applied Statistics in Health Sciences (UAB, 2019), and Infectious Diseases in Mobile Populations – International Health (UB, 2023). Her international training includes fellowships at Mayo Clinic (2019) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital – Harvard Medical School (2023), focusing on cardiovascular infections, mechanical circulatory support, cardiac and lung transplants, and ICU infections.
For the past eight years, she has been providing clinical care at the Infectious Diseases Department of Hospital Clínic de Barcelona focusing on critical care, cardiovascular infections, and infections in gynecology, obstetrics, and neonatology.
Her clinical and research work centers on cardiovascular infections, combining clinical studies with in vitro and in vivo models of biofilm and infective endocarditis. She has authored over 90 PubMed-indexed articles (H-index 23) and leads the PREDICT study on radiomics for diagnosing cardiovascular infections (AES-FIS 2024). Since 2020, she has been an associate professor at the University of Barcelona.
