Her clinical interests comprise brain-gut axis disorders, psychosomatics and mood disorders (depression, treatment resistant depression) with medical comorbidity. To tackle research questions regarding the brain-gut axis mechanisms (immunity, inflammation, microbiome..) involved on this comorbidity, she has been involved as a researcher in competitive government and international grants: “Neurophysiology and digestive neurophysiology”(SAF 2013-43677-R and SAF2016-76648-R, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness), H2020- SC1-2019 DISCOvERIE project   to study the role of the brain-gut axis in the comorbidity between depression/anxiety and non-mental diseases related to pain (eg. fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, A Phase III, Randomized, Active Comparator-controlled, Clinical Trial to Study the Efficacy and Safety of the INtegral Cognitive REMediation program (INCREM) in patients with Depression (Marató TV3 202227-30-31-32-33) and in the project: “Indoleamine 2, 3 – dioxygenase (IDO) and kynurenines as potential biomarkers predictive of the development of major depression in patients with neuropathic pain“  among others.
