The Catalan Ophthalmology Workshop for Hospital Pharmacy is a half-day event that brings together specialists involved in the validation, preparation, and monitoring of hospital medication in ophthalmology. The goal is to deepen knowledge in this specialty, foster coordination with ophthalmologists, and optimize pharmacotherapeutic care for patients.
Ophthalmology is one of the medical specialties that, in recent years, has increased its interaction with hospital pharmacists the most. The evolution of its role, which has shifted from focusing on the preparation and dispensing of medications to patient follow-up and participation in the positioning and validation of different treatments, along with recent therapeutic innovations, makes it necessary to promote and enhance knowledge in the ophthalmology field. This includes understanding pathophysiology, as well as the language and management of the most prevalent pathologies by ophthalmologists, without losing sight of pharmacotherapy knowledge and the evolution of pharmaceutical care in this specialty.
